We take route-setting serious at Threshold because we want to provide the best possible experience for our Visitors, Members and Team Athletes every time they come to the gym. That is why we invest so much into our Setting Team. We prioritize professional certification (USA Climbing, Climbing Wall Association, Petzl Technical Institute), setting for sanctioned USA Climbing Championships, and bringing in the USA’s leading route-setters to work along side our crew as guest setters.
MEET THE SETTERS
We know you all have a love/hate relationship with the setting crew. The only way you can get back at them is to onsight all their boulders and routes. So, make that your goal and remember

OPERATIONS MANAGER & HEAD SETTER
We call him Armen-Hammer. He is a USA Climbing Level 3 Route-Setter. The only one of his kind in Oklahoma. He has been on many regional and divisional championship setting teams. He has worked with some of the industry’s leading professionals in the route-setting community. When he’s not setting your new projects, he’s out side climbing double-digit boulder problems and establishing first ascents.

SETTER
The strong quiet type. His work speaks for itself. No doubt you’ve thought his routes are harder than the grade indicates. No excuses… Get stronger.

SETTER
Ethan is Threshold’s first born child. He’s been climbing since Threshold first opened. He climbed competitively on USA Climbing’s Youth Circuit. Now that he’s all grown up he has joined the setting crew.

SETTER
You know him better known as Steve-o. He’s been with us for years and odds are you’ve climbed with him. He is a die hard member of the setting team. His favorite days are setting days!

ASSISTANT SETTER
If it wasn’t for Avrie the setting team would be running rampant! She keeps everyone in check while setting some pretty sick climbs. She is also the popular setter on the team because she keeps everything organization and the holds clean, or as we call them “Fresholds”.

HEAVY SETTER
The setting crew’s MVP. Genie does the heavy lifting so the setters can keep on setting. The only time a setter doesn’t like Genie is when they are the only setter not in the bucket…
